What is language?
Language can be divided into 4 categories, “listening,” “speaking,” “reading,” and “writing”. As children get older, “calculation” appears in addition to the 4 categories, which concerns to school education.
What is a language/speech disorder?
In brief, a delay or apparent problem in one or more of the 4 categories: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, compared to the actual age.
Disorders which might affect the categories of language skills:
It is said that Edison and Einstein, and various famous artists also had developmental disorders. Having developmental disorders doesn’t always affect all of the categories. The child might be great at some fields.
